I don't know the full functionality of the software, but I was wondering if the following is possible:

  • Change gauge setup with button press
  • Animated buttons (as in lights, alert buttons etc.). I know the buttons can have on-off states, but I want pulsating glows.

I did read through the online docs, but even they don't go into detail as to the features that were mentioned but not elaborated on. Oh and a wishlist item would be to remove the file/edit menu up top. Although there is a Windows Registry hack that can remove it (from ALL apps).

I'm trying to get something sleek for CarPC users, and the rage is the GTR gauges. The whole idea is to have a user be able to pick between different screens using the buttons along the top.

On state for the buttons on top.

Currently you cannot do any of these things. However, we are adding some new features to DashCommand that should make you very happy. Wink Cool

For the animations, this will probably not be a supported feature in the near future. But I'm definitely open to any ideas on how to represent an animation in the DashXL editor.

About the menus, are you talking about removing the menus from DashCommand, or from the DashXL editor?

Sorry, I've been away for a bit. Moved from SoCal to Illinois over that time and things were nuts. But back to the gauges Smiley

I'm willing to part with a custom design if you're willing to code it up and bundle it with a future release. Right now I don't think I'll ever get time to fully dive into DashCommand. Making a gui/gauge is way faster for me at the moment.

Well, if the user wanted to have an animated sequence, just have them call it out in some sort of XML style syntax:
Code:
<button name>
   <button function>
      <image linked to function 1>
      <image linked to function 2>
   </button function>
</button name>

An option to completely hide the File/Edit/Option menu for people running full CarPC units.

Thank you for the suggestions. We do have some very exiting features coming in DashCommand that I think will satisfy many of your requests. I will pass the additional information along.

Thanks for helping us make our products better.
