Hello...
is it somehow possible, that DashCommand automatically conects every time when there is no data available?
I got the problem, that as soon as I turn off the engine, the OBD conection is interrupted.
When I turn the key in "on" position OBD-data is availlable but is not displayed in DashCommand.

How can I get the programm to make an automatic reconect (without pressing a button or anything else)Huh
The problem for me is, that I use the Audi RNS-E Navigation-Unit and don't want to use a keyboard or anything else...

Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Germany...

Thanks alot...

I know it's an old post...but...I'll second this suggestion.

In my case, I installed a three was switch to power the carPC. One position powers on the PC even if the vehicle is turned off, the other position only powers on the PC when the vehicle is started and the third is off no matter what.

The reason I did this was for a couple reasons. If I just wanted to hop in the car and move it or travel a very short distance, I wanted a a way to prevent the computer from booting up. Also, f I stop to get gas or to run into the store, I wanted a way to keep the computer running while the vehicle was off.

Now, where the problem arises is that if I have the switch set to power on during vehicle start up, DashCommand automatically loads and every thing is fine. However, if I then run and get gas, and flip the switch to keep the computer running, but the car off, obviously DC looses connection with the vehicle. When I get back in and start the car, I have to remember to manually reconnect DC. I forget half the time, which then throws off the trip computer and such.

It would be nice if there was a setting in DC to check every so many minutes to see if there is a connection and if not, try and re-connect. Or be able to auto detect when there is a signal feeding the scan tool and auto connect when it sees one.
