I have a 2005 Cavalier, I use the ELMscan5 and the "factory" dashboard. The fuel level is not working.
I have no clues where I can't find the PID , nor the PID name for the function.

I know that the gauge is hook directly to the ECM an this one send the signal to the car dashboard trough an another wire, so I'm pretty sure the signal is processed by the ECM before it sent to the dashboard.

Any info or pointer will be appreciated.

I download the PCM scan and found out what Pid was available , unfortunately they have no GM.ENGINE.FL for the Cavalier.

I have now two problems by using the dash command for Main dashboard, the odometer, and now the fuel gauge, it try it on a 2005 dodge ram diesel and a Buick Century 99, with the same result.

I play with the setting and all are set on SAE.RPM no clue why, I try to set them for the SCRIPT.FUEL.ECONOMY or GM.ENGINE.FTP ( tank pressure) i explain why later, and save it, they all go back to SAE.RPM.

HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh

I 'm thinking to re-wire the FUEL SENDER to the FUEL Tank Pressure sensor, since my car is a NON smog, so using the signal and modify it.

Please let me know . Huh Huh Huh

The default dashboards use SAE.FLI for the Fuel Level gauges. If you have GM.ENGINE.FL, you would need to edit the dashboards to use that instead.

I change all the PID who was related for this gauge and save it, but it didn't work.

When I reopen the setting the changed wasn't saved, Huh?

Should I change all the setting , (replace all the PID related from SAE to GM....) only one ?
I try to find about this in the help section but is still unclear.

Hi,

I'll attempt to help you.

As Weston said SAE.FLI is the fuel level parameter you need. If your vehicle doesn't provide this PID then there's nothing we can do. DashCommand doesn't support the Enhanced Diagnostic PIDs like GM.ENGINE.FL at this time.

If you are using ScanXL with the GM enhanced diagnostic package, you shouls be able to use the DashXL editor to modify or create a dashboard to use GM.ENGINE.FL instead of SAE.FLI.

Are you having trouble using the DashXL editor? You say your changes where not saved. Please explain what you did in more detail.

Thanks,
Pierre.

Cavi 05 do not support the SAE.FLI, so I will have to wait until you upgrade it.
thanks for your time BTW
