Is it possible to decrease the update interval (increase frames/sec) for PCMScan?
If so, where is the setting to do this please?
I have a dedicated 30gb Hdd for PCMScan so I am not worried about log file size, and I'd like to get to as close to continuous grabs as possible.

I think you will find the setting in the PREFERENCE section under the File pulldown.

Am I right, BrianP ?

If you are using an ELM interface, you can lower the response timeout (in the preferences) and that will speed it up some. But if you lower it too much, it will start dropping data. The only other thing you can do is to deselect some PID's. The less PID's you are logging, the faster it will go.

Also, the log file size is usually limited by how much RAM your system has, not how big the hard drive is. The logged data is stored in RAM until saved to disk.

Thanks guys.

I had checked through the preferences etc but couldn't see anything obvious.
However, I had added a couple of PID's before I connected to the vehicle, so that is an obvious solution for me - pare down to essential PID's only.

Thank you also for the tip on the RAM. I've dedicated a dissued Laptop for PCMScan and it only has 64mb Ram, so this info is good to know.
