I just ordered the PCMSCAN with an ElmScan 5 tool serial RS232.  I don't have a serial port on my laptop, but will my USB to serial adapter work with this software and ElmScan 5?  I have an Prolific Technology PL-2303 adapter which works fine with my handheld GPS.  I just want to make sure.

Your USB to serial adapter should work just fine.

Make sure you get the driver when you get the serial adapter. Without the driver, it will not work.
