I just purchased the dash command for my iphone and no luck here either.  I have the BT1 and can get it to connect to my iphone but when I try and launch the dash command I get error detecting OBD protocol.  I have a 2006 honda civic si no mods.  Help.

We're having trouble reproducing any problems with the BT1 in our labs.

Do jland or 2hottynva have any other information that might help us to identify the problem? What phone are you using? Is it a 4S?

Yeah, it's a 4s running ios 5.0.1. I've also tried my iPad 2. If it helps, my car is a 2008 Honda Fit Sport, automatic transmission.

At the moment, we believe it's a combination of the Go Point BT together with Honda vehicles. We're looking for an appropriate vehicle to test with.

do we know if the GL1 will work or what I need to purchase to have the same features that this promised.  Does prop performance haave a iphone 4s bluetooth connection that actually does what the go point claims?

The GoPoint is the only iPhone bluetooth that we support at this time. We should have this figured out within a few days, and then we will be able to put out a fix for it.

If you cannot wait for the fix, then you would probably need one of the wifi interfaces.

Please note that we'd possible need up to a few weeks after discovering the problem, to issue an update (Apple's approval process can take several weeks).

I've been testing this issue today, and it appears that it's isolated to GoPoint interfaces. We were unable to connect using the BT1, from what looked like the BT1 queuing up a lot of RPM requests with the vehicle. The GL1 refused to connect at all, and wouldn't even charge the iPhone (it works fine with other vehicles).

I also tested with an OBDLink WiFi, which didn't experience any issues. We'll talk to GoPoint about this and hopefully have a fix soon.

EDIT: Further testing revealed that the GL1 DID charge the phone, and connected without issue. This is solely a BT1 problem.

Still waiting on go point BT1 to work with my civic.  Is this a honda problem?  Go Point Problem?  PPE Problem?  Works fine with my 2006 GMC Envoy Denali, although I don't understand why everytime I leave the app I have to go back in to the main menu and hit connection?  I know this was a couple problems but the Honda problem is what I would really like some kind of answer to.  Thanks.

This looks like a problem with the GoPoint BT. They appear to have trouble connecting to Hondas. Unfortunately our support process takes a lot longer going through these hardware companies. It's something that we don't really have control over because we cannot control how quickly they respond to our emails/phone calls or other communication.

When you leave the app, we cannot maintain the connection. If we don't continually ping the hardware interface then it will close the connection. You can use the "Auto-Connect" setting, which will try to always connect the vehicle when you enter the app. But you will still be disconnected when you leave the app.

So do you think at some point (hopefully relatively soon) PPE and GoPoint will be able to diagnose and correct the issue? I'm fine with waiting as long as I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
