CLK WILL NOT CONNECT. PLEASE HELP.

Hi there.
 I received my CLK OBD WIFI INTERFACE in the post.
So. I pulled the trigger and purchased DashCommand.
I connect it up using an adaptor for round type port in my 1998 BMW 5 SERIES (E39) 525tds.

Neither My Ipad2 OR Iphone 4s will connect to the software no matter what I do.

I have tried other apps. Fuzzy. Rev lite. Etc. NO JOY.
I do know that the OBD  port does work,
Because, I used my serial port diagnostic bmw scanner connected to laptop before and after it.

I have inputted the various static ip's as per this forum suggested.
And changed the ip and port to the numbers recommended by this foruum also.

My questions are:
Is my car even compatible. ?
Is the Chinese CLK no good. ?

I tried for hours today. No joy.
Please help.

If you live in the United States, then it is probably OBD-II. If you live in Europe, probably not.

All cars sold in the United States since 1996, and sold in the European Union since 2002 are mandated to comply with OBD-II.

If you have a OBD-II car, it is possible that the CLK unit is defective. I would suggest trying it on a newer car if you are able to.

What error message does DashCommand give you when you try to connect?
