Warnings - visual & audio/signal

I am in need of a clear answer on this question. Does any of these products support the functionality to produce a visual and/or audible alert if a given value (lets say coolant temperature) exceeds a set point. I am completing the installation of a carputer running Win 7 and centrafuse now and was going to put in a bunch of autometer gauges that have alerting capability. Trouble is each gauge is about $200 and I heed a bunch. If I can achieve the same functionality (alerting specifically) by interfacing with the OBD2, It would seem more cost effective to do it in this manner, not to mention a lot cheap. I would even consider adding a second screen just for the app that would run the gauges.
