I have just purchased the DC app along with a CLK devices wifi OBD11 device, and I cant get it to work.

I have searched many different threads on the forum, all in a similar vein but have found nothing to make it work.

Firstly I have applied the correct Static IP address 192.168.0.11(and various others too)
and sub net mask of 255.255.255.0

I have also tried to apply settings in DC of custom IPs (192.168.0.10 and also 192.168.0.11) and also tried to apply a port of 35000 as well as trying the standard AUTO setting, I have the ELM OBD11 interface type selected.

I have disconnected wifi, reconnected wifi, in the iphone, tried to connect the wifi before the DC and vice versa.

I do have a good wifi connection  between the CLK and the iphone, I have a full set of wifi bars.

But DC does not work, I either get one of the following error messages.

OBD11 interface not found
OBD connection protocol error
OBD device not supported.

there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when I get these messages but DC will not connect.

HELP!

PS its a Volvo V70 2000 model, which works fine when I connect my Volvo VCT2000 OBD interface kit to it, and clear and run all manner of different parameters.

Try changing the ISO/KWP to 2000 and the OBD-II Timeout to 600ms in the vehicle manager.

OK, have changed the parameters as suggested but still no joy! Cry

the console logs look like  this:

opening OBD-11 connection....
Searching for ELM interface.....
Checking WiFi/WLan....
Found ELM interface on WiFi/WLan!
OBD-11 Error: Error detecting OBD-11 protocol.

and this repeats itself for most of the sensible user settings I apply.

Am I missing something?

I suppose you have already tried the steps in the wifi setup guide. If not, here it is:

http://www.palmerperformance.com/download/docs/DashCommand_WiFi_Setup_Guide.pdf

The next step would be to send a techlog to our support team. See the instructions here: http://www.palmerperformance.com/forum/index.php?topic=4665.0

The techlog has additional information that might help us detect the problem. I would suggest for this, use the AUTO setting for the obdii port in DashCommand.

Hi

I'm getting exactly the same problems with DC that I've just bought also with CLK device, so a solution would be really appreciated!  Smiley

Thanks

** Edit - Peugeot 406 Coupe, 2002.  ODB2 works fine with Peugeot Planet via usb connector **

Stage 3.... thanks for that, and the PM

However still no luck! Still the same results.  Cry

And as I don't have access to a PC/laptop I cant really try all the suggestions from DC support or from the CLK vendors/manufacturers (whom unsurprisingly are blaming DC rather than admitting its their lead that's probably at fault). Gutted! was hoping this would help me get over my Volvo's intermittent EGR fault.

One of the few times in the last 8 years I've almost regretted having my mac......still at least its NEVER crashed/hung/got viruses etc etc etc, small price to pay I suppose.... that and the satisfaction of not giving Bill Gates any more cash. Wink

Anyone got any more ideas?

Mike, are you sure it's OBD-II compliant? Scantool.net has a KB article on that: https://www.scantool.net/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=2&nav=0

If the vehicle isn't OBD-II compliant then it won't work with DashCommand or the CLK.

What did CLK suggest you try?

Right,... been offline for a while, as I sent the CLX wifi lead back, it took a while to get back to China and get my refund but eventually its sorted, they however did test the lead and declared it fully serviceable! Undecided
So I bit the bullet and bought a PLX Kiwi as many seem to be having a lot of success with it.

BUT it does the same thing?!!! Cry

The car is a 2000 Volvo V70 phase 2 which I believe is OBDII compliant, if anyone has a definitive list of compliant vehicles I would be very appreciative.

Has anyone got a similar Volvo to connect? Huh

I don't have that model car to try, but it sounds like it probably isn't obdii compliant. Cars sold in the USA at that time were required to be obdii compliant, but not cars sold in Europe.

Have you gotten DashCommand to work on a different car? Making it work on a different car would seem to confirm that your car isn't compliant.
