Av out screen completely overrides the dashboard screens. This makes the app useless. Am I missing some setting? I know i have an AV cable connected. I don't need the app to give me a full screen graphic telling me this. Before this update i was able to listen to music from my iphone while using the dashcommand app to monitor my car. NOW it is impossible to do both at the same time. This "feature" is unwanted and ruins this $50 app. I expect another update soon to resolve this issue. If I am the idiot that is missing the option to disable this full screen av out thing PLEASE inform me.

Sarlac, Sorry about this. I didn't think we changed that in this release. The AV out screen has been there for a few releases now.

What hardware are you plugging into? Is this a Pioneer App Radio or something else?

Plugged into my 2010 Honda civics USB port. It works like a dock connector allowing song info to display on the oem stereo. The av screen was not present on the version I updated from which was (until 3.0.0) the most up to date version in the app store. There is another thread where a guy with a mustang complains about this same issue and has a video to show it.

Okay. Give me a day to look into this issue and I will get back to you. I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to show that screen for the USB port.

Thanks, btw the auto connect is working great now. No more force quitting and relaunching every time I stop the car at a store or what have you.

Hello,

Seems like I have the same issue. I just purchased Dashcommand a few days ago. It was working fine until I upgraded the app last night. This morning when I got in the car to use it, it only shows the accessory connected screen, when I have the cord plugged in to the car. I need the cord because the battery drains very quickly without it.

The car is a 2011 Nissan Rogue SL.  It has an interface to the radio for the Apple devices. But it only works for playing back music and displaying the track info on the cars radio touchscreen.

Sarlac, thanks for the feedback on the auto-connect. We were wondering whether it would be well-received.

Zane, thanks for adding emphasis to this issue. I should have more for you by the end of the day.

We have looked into this issue. We added A/V Out with the latest release (03Terminator with the video shows this functioning correctly), so you can take your iPhone to your TV and use DashCommand on it. This is helpful for anyone with a 2 DIN stereo that has a screen on it with A/V in capability -- they can now use DashCommand on it.

The problem is that it appears iOS reports any stereo accessory as an external screen, and so we connect to it with A/V Out. We will get a fix for this and release it as soon as possible.

My initial post was a bit of a rage thing. Sorry about that. I do appreciate the attention this issue is receiving.
In my case I am using the a/v out cable for audio only.
I just want to be able to listen to pandora and use dashcommand at the same time.  Roll Eyes

I wanted to +1 this thread. I have a Honda CRZ, and up until version 2.9.3, I would be able to use Dashcommand while plugged into my headunits's USB port for power. I could listen to the iPod app through the USB connection.

As of 3.0, DC now thinks that audio only USB connection is an AV connection.

New version does not operate with AppRadio: the screen either shows an image larger than the available space, not showing some gauges, or a miniature, distorted image, that sometimes rotates. I have the late App Radio update installed.
Everytime you release an update to correct bugs, other bugs appear! Is the program still in alpha testing? For that price???

We thoroughly tested the AppRadio functionality before this last release. What iOS device are you using, and on what version? AppRadio or AppRadio 2? Can you give us specific instructions to reproduce this?

Hi, Weston, I am using iPhone 4S with the recent IOS update and AppRadio first version, with the last update (end of April).
Sometimes, when I connect the iPhone already running DashCommand, tha app seems to interpret that is connected to a larger screen and some gauges are not shown. Other occasions, the application on the iPhone is presented on the phone screen much smaller than the screen and distorted. Other times, it runs smoothly, on the iPhone and on AppRadio. No apparent reasons for this random behavior.
