Hopefully this week. However, we have other bug fixes which we will bundle with this fix, so we cannot be entirely certain. Also, our update will have to pass Apple's inspection.

This has been a long interval to leave the app broken. In it's current state I have a $50 paperweight. Please get us some sort of hot fix out!

Sorry. I know this is taking a while. The hotfix is under review by Apple at the moment. As soon as they approve it, the hotfix will be available.

This is progress. It's useable again. It would be nice to have a choice to start with av disabled though. Thanks for the help.

The latest version of Dashcommand for iOS damaged my setup. I have my iPhone 4S connected to a Lilliput 7" HDMI LCD via Apple's A/V adapter and soon wirelessly with AirPlay with an AppleTV or Kivic One device.

Before the v3 update I was able to mirror DashCommand from my iPhone 4S into my Larger screen. The new version might make things easier or better for AppRadio customers but is not pleasing everyone. Why can't DashCommand function the same way GPS Drive by MotionX works? I mean, can't we have the controls/configuration/settings available from the iPhone and use the larger LCD (either AppRadio or any other LCD) to display the actual data and dashboards?. See below:

http://drive.motionx.com/iphone/telematics/bg-fj-prius.png

For the time being, the minimum I would request is the option to allow to mirror the iPhone as is to the external display. This was working OK for me prior to v3.

We discussed having that option, but we want to see how this update is received. If enough people want it then we may add it.

@Emilgram, have you tried the 3.0.1 update that just came out? It has a fix for the A/V issue in 3.0.0.

John@PPE:

I appreciate the changes brought with v3.0.1 and that is indeed the version I am using. Every release has fixed a ton of things and many additional features have made the product better and faster. While Dashcommand for iOS is far from perfect, it is unique in the Marketplace and I still love it.

Please note that the request I made is not the same as @Sarlac's. I would like to either be able to completely mirror the iPhone display (this is an iPhone 4S and iPad 2/3 native feature already so I believe you are disabling it by software!) or better yet, that the external display becomes a complement much in the same way MotionX designed its GPS App.

If you decide to implement the configuration switch that @Sarlac requested, I would have it like this:

External Video Setting
- Mirror iOS display (default)
- Disable video out
- Only use external Display

Then, if the user starts with "Only use external Display", the iPhone screen would have buttons to "Disable Video Out" and "Mirror iOS display".

I am not sure if there should be any particular setting for AppRadio as I don't know how it works and maybe the option names I chose could be made more intuitive but I think this gets the idea across for now. Let me know what you think!

There seems to be a new "feature" in 3.0.1 with no disable option... (screen dims after a moment to so dark you can't see it in the daylight)
The phone does not lock, and the connection is retained. The screen just drops to DIM mode even though it is connected to power. I thought it seemed dim last night on the way to work. This morning it was as if the screen was off it's so dim.

This is not listed in the change log.
It must be a mistake.
This is new to 3.0.1

I would have started a new thread on this issue but we seem to have a dialog here.

Same issue here. I thought my phone when into standby it was so dark. The timeout period seems to be related to the autolock settings on my iPhone 4S (exactly 2 minutes). If I close and relaunch the app a few times, I can get the display to not dim. Seems to be related to the standby bug in 3.0.0. It would be nice to just add a toggle in settings to never put the iPhone in standy while the app is running. Never had any of these issues until 3.0.0... a real pain needing to touch the screen every two minutes to wake it up...

Let me ask the developer who changed the AV/out. I think he is out for Memorial Day. So I'll get you an answer probably tomorrow. Remind me if you haven't heard on this.

I'm testing the screen dimming but not seeing it. I've set the auto-lock to 2 minutes but I am not seeing any dimming.

What OBD-II hardware interface are you using? Any other settings that might be relevant? I'll run some more tests but if I can see the failure myself then we can surely get it fixed. This isn't expected behavior, and I don't know of any changes that we made that might cause this.

The issue only happens when connected to the OBDII adapter and reading data. Launching the app while not connected to an OBDII interface won't cause the issue.

Try jumping to the home screen and re-opening the app, this will cause the issue for me 100% of the time. To fix, I need to kill the task in the launcher and re-launch from scratch multiple times. I am using a BT1 bluetooth adapter.

I'm not seeing this on my old iPod nor iPhone 3. Sounds like it's maybe related to the iOS multi-threading? I'll test it tomorrow on a 4S and iPad.

To be completely honest the dim screen is nice at night. But in the daylight it's no good. If there is a way to make that optional go for it. Otherwise squash the bug.
