Using MFT to display dash instruments

Has anyone used a Micro HDMI to RCA cable with their android phone to display the dash on the My Ford Touch screen? Is this even possible?

From what I understand, it can be done, but you can't be moving.  I was trying to do this with an iPhone in a Fusion a few weeks ago.
