Hi, I just seem to not be able to bluetooth pair DashCommand on Galaxy Tab with ELM327 OBD2 interface. As a test I tried to see if my iphone 4 would discover the device but it didn't either. Does this mean my ELM327 is faulty?

Which ELM327 OBD2 device is it? Is it one of the OBDLink Bluetooth devices?

Hi John, Yes it's a bluetooth device. In fact since my post, I was able to pair it with my Galaxy Tab 10.1, however I'm still having a problem.

Now Error detecting OBD-II protocol. See attached debug log.
Thanks,

Alright, finally have it all sorted. If I can make any recommendation to other novices like me. Follow the DashCommand Quick_Start_Guide and include a step between Step1 & Step2 where you need to go on the Bluetooth settings of your Galaxy Tab (settings-->Wireless and Networks) and first ensure "Bluetooth" is ON, second click "Bluetooth settings" and Pair with your ELM327 OBD-II device. Password should be either 0000 or 1234.

Hi All,
Thought I'd share this with others. Had it all working until I upgraded my Galaxy Tab from android v3.1 to v3.2? Now I cannot get the Tab to properly communicate with the ELM327. Am I frustrated you say!#&?
The web is full of comments saying how Android 3.2 has screwed up the Bluetooth side of things, had I know that. The worst bit is there is no going back, so whatever you do don't upgrade from Android 3.1 to 3.2.

Thanks for the update. It also appears (to me anyways) that Samsung doesn't use the stock Android Bluetooth stack, so the Samsung devices seem to have more trouble with Bluetooth than other Android devices do.
