Have a problem with plx logger wich is a version of your scanxl program (as stated on the plx website), have a problem connecting to the OBDII data from my car (2003 dodge ram) ECU.

I can connect ok to my PLX auxilliary devices (afr in my case),

But when I uncheck the 'connect to auxilliary devices only' option

I get the following error:

What am I doing wrong?

It looks like ScanXL/PLX Logger is finding your interface just fine, but might be getting a response it doesn't expect or something similar.

Can you get me a tech log of this? A tech log would give me the exact details of why it failed. To get a tech log, first restart ScaXL, then go to the Help menu > Debug Options, and set Debug Level 9. Now try to connect, and after it fails go back to Debug Options > Save Tech Log. You can attach it to your next post and I'd be glad to take a look.

First time I 'host' a file so I hope it works.

Try this for the tech file:

Anything? Trying to figure out if it's a hardware or software problem, could the fact that I'm running windows 'parallel' on a macbook to run this program be the reason of my problems?

Are you sure the PLX is on Com5?  We can't verify it is on the correct port we just accept that if found something on the port you selected.

The auxiliary device (afr in my case) does work and that one is also on com 5 so I'm pretty sure it's on the correct one.

I have tried all the available ports, when I try the com5 it takes like 6 seconds for the 'error message' to pop up, on all the other ones I get the error message the moment I click the connect button, wich also leads me to believe that it's the correct com port.

Maybe a stupid question, but to connect to the OBDII data do you have to disable the 'connect to auxiliary devices only' in the connection pop up screen? Screenshot of the connect screen with the 'connect to auxiliary devices' option

Reason for asking is when I connect with this setting on (so supposedly only connecting to the auxiliary devices) in the OBDII-settings screen it shows that the OBDII as well as the auxilary devices have connected. (see picture, as soon as I connect the 'duration' under the OBDII starts running, this screenshot was taken after connecting with the option 'connect to auxiliary devices only' ON)

However when I then go to the PID config screen, only the auxiliary devices pids have the green check mark next to them, all of the SAE pids (the OBDII ones) have a red check mark next to them.

Again, the auxiliary devices I can get to work (so com port should be correct) the OBDII I can't get to work.

Thanks for you help, Christof Matthys.
