Someone gave me a Carista adapter.
I read where it is supposed to be able to work with other ELM compatible apps such as DashCommand but so far I have not figured out how to get it to work.
Has anyone else tried one?

I just checked their website. The claim is that it will work with Android and not iOS. Are you on Android? If so, what steps have you tried to make it work and what was the result?

Thanks for the reply.
I confirmed what you found that it says it only works with other apps on Android. I must have misread the description initially.
I am on iOS so this will not be of much use to me other than with the Carista App, which I really don't care for.

I have the Carissa adapter also.
It does work with iOS - however it is a Bluetooth device and it seems that it's use will need to be just developed in to the dash command app.
ODB Fusion has already done this with their iOS app and it works with the Carista adapter.

Can the Dashcommand developers please contact and work with Carista to get support for the adapter in the Dashcommand app? (Much like has been done for other hardware devices).
I would think this would be quite beneficial for both companies.

Hi
Do you have update on if this implementation for use with the Carista adapter is being considered and planned for a future update?
Is there an interest in adding it and is it likely to happen?

Hi. We do not have any update on this. It has been added to our feature request list. At this time we are busy with other projects, but may add this in the future.

Hi.

Any more progress to get Carista adapter working with Dashcommand?

Apparently the Carista people have been trying regularly to contact and work with the Dashcommand developers but are not getting responses.

Can you please try add this support?

We don't have any plans to add Carista support at this time. As far as I know we have not heard from them. Our email is support@palmerperformance.com, where they would be able to attempt contact.

Hi, i have a Carista too. Frankly, being as popular as Carista is i was a bit taken back that it did not work with dashcommand. Unfortunately i already paid for the dash command app thinking it would work as OBD Fusion does on iOS.

I am also little troubled that you are pawning it off on Carista to get in contact with you for hardware support. That seems backwards too me. Furter I would have bought an OBD Link had you a model available for iOS that supported BT, instead of a wi-fi setup. Wi-fi implementations are a PITA IMO.

Regardless since you dont have a list of supported hardware at the Apple App Store may i recommend that you add one or a brief list? Since you dont plan to implement iOS support ofr Carista, is it possible to get a refund?

Actually things have changed since my last post, and we are now working to support the Carista adapter.

I was excited to see the latest update listed as having Carista support. Thanks so much!!

However in the app I don't see an interface option to select it to connect to the Carista adapter. It seems to be missing.
Can you please look in to this?
