Hi, I have a renault master van and am using elmscan5 usb with scanxl software. The van has a SERV light on so I hooked up the elmscan to it and when  I checked it 3 codes came up
p0032 - H02S HEATER CONTROL
P0711 TFT SENSOR
B0500 UNKNOWN DIAGNOSTIC CODE

ALL WELL SOFAR

When I clicked on clear error codes it went through the process of clearing them but the "SERV" light is still on.Can someone explain what to do.

Apart from reading the above error codes I am unable to do anything else with scanxl on this van, Is there a tutorial for novice users to look at

regards Hugh

I would like to ask a couple questions if that's alright.

ScanXL will read the trouble codes, but won't read anything else?  If you create a create some gauges from the dashboard tab and hit the monitor live data button the needles don't move at all?  The program connects without any problems?  What year is your Van?

When you first open a dashboard or tables they will not start displaying data by default.  You need to either click the monitor live data button (F2) or the record data button (F3).  If you didn't have one of those options selected before that would be why data isn't showing up in your dashboard.  Let me know if that is not the case.

I have heard that on some vehicles the serv light does not go off until you turn the vehicle off and back on.  If it still there when you restart the van is it still reading the same three trouble codes?

Hi Shon,I have opened a dashboard and tried both monitor and record data and I get either a red or green screen on the footer of the page but there is no monitoring taking place and no movement on any of the guages.I have reset all dtc's but they dont reset and it is the same ones that are there when scanXL reopened.Could it be that my Elmscan 5 usb is recieving data from the vechicle but not transmiting .When I connect to the vechicle I get green power light on ,both rx leds orange and both tx red

Would you be able to send us a techlog of this problem so we can tell what
is going on?  To get the techlog first go to the help menu->debug options
and set the debug level to 9.  After you have done this try connecting to
the vehicle again.  After you see the error, go back to the debug menu and
save the techlog.  Send us that techlog file so we can figure out what is
wrong.  Send it to support@palmerperformance.com

OBD-II compliance started in 1996 in USA
EOBD started in 2001 in European Gas Vehicles
EOBD Started in 2004 for EU deisel Vehicles

It may be that the vehicle may not be fully compliant.

The SERV light remaining on is normal. We have often seen vehicles that continue to report error codes even after clearing them until the vehicle has been turned off and back on.

The connection issue with not seeing valid PIDs has been fixed with the new build (855) and should apply to this vehicle as well.

Hope this helps.
